This Tanzania game lodge in Tarangire is about a 2 hour drive from Arusha, or a 20 minute flight followed by a 20 minute road transfer. Tarangire National Park has some of the largest herds of Elephant in Tanzania as well as other abundant wildlife.

Covering an area of 2600 square km (104 square miles) Tarangire National Park in Tanzania is also home to prolific birdlife, especially birds of prey - a huge attraction for ornithologists and birding enthusiasts. Tarangire Sopa Lodge is 118km (73 miles) south west of Arusha and located in a lush area with constant water, which is quite a contrast to the dry surroundings.

Temperatures generally fall between 21-27 degrees Centigrade (70-80 degrees Fahrenheit). The short rains in Tarangire National Park fall between November and December and the long rains between April and May. The dry season is from June to October.
