The Tarangire area has distinct seasons. Oliver's Camp operates in Tarangire National Park for the period of June to March. It is in this period that the concentrations of wildlife in the Tarangire National Park reach stunning levels as migratory herds of Wildebeest, Zebra, Buffalo and Elephant move inside the Tarangire National Park in search of the park's water sources.
Tarangire National Park is situated about 120 km southwest of Arusha in northern Tanzania. The name of the park derives from the Tarangire River that runs through the park and drains into lake Burungi. This Tarangire safari area in Tanzania boasts majestic baobab trees. From this national park, guests can overlook the Great Rift Valley, Ngorongoro highlands and the Lame Manyara region.
How to get there:
Oliver's Camp is located inside the Tarangire National Park on the east side, about 2 hours driving from the main gate and circa 45 minutes driving from the nearest air strip. Oliver's Camp provides free transfers to the nearest air strip. Other transfers can be arranged to Tarangire National Park on request. Transfer to/from the camp is normally included in package-safaris arranged by professional tour operators.
