The Northern Safari Circuit of Tanzania is arguably the best known safari travel destination in Africa with names such as Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Kilimanjaro embedded in the psyches of most Africa-phobes – and Arusha is central to this legendary region.

Set in the foothills of Mount Meru Arusha is a charming place of pleasant climate and many activities. Kilimanjaro – African legend

Africa’s highest point, and the highest free-standing mountain on earth, Mount Kilimanjaro, can be seen from great distances on a clear day. When to go to Arusha: Arusha can be visited year round but is best to book around a safari in the northern parks. The best time to climb Kilimanjaro is January to march and June to October. Tar roads connect Arusha Kenya and the southern countries of Africa, so driving to Arusha is relatively easy.
