Amara Selous is situated on the Great Ruaha River in the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania, within easy reach of the Simbazi airstrip. Amara Selous reflects the colours and mood of the Selous, offering luxury facilities in an eco-friendly way in the heart of the African bush.

Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania is one of the largest in Africa and a World Heritage Site. It offers a varied safari experience where guests can walk, game drive and take river safaris. During the ‘rainy’ season in Nov / Dec and April / May there are fabulous displays of rolling clouds with rich colours, along with rainfall during part of the day.

Selous in Southern Tanzania is between 8° and 10° below the Equator and experiences warm sunny days and warm evenings. The raised dining area and gazebo at the centre of the camp are positioned to capture cooling afternoon breezes.
