Visit two of Tanzania's most spectacular game viewing areas – the captivating Lake Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will be accompanied by a local guide who will share their incredible knowledge with enthusiasm and humour.

Echo Beach sits on a lovely stretch of white beach in Zanzibar. The emphasis is on total relaxation in natural surroundings. Days can be spent diving and snorkelling, relaxing by the pool or enjoying a massage. A perfect way to end your safari in Tanzania.

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara

Depart Arusha and arrive in time for a game drive and lunch in Lake Manyara National Park.

Lake Manyara National Park boasts an astonishing wealth of habitats, from swamps and a tranquil lake to the mountain escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. You can leisurely track the famous tree-climbing lions and enjoy unimpeded views of the flocks of pelicans, flamingos, and the buffalo cooling in the soda lake.

Spend the evening at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge. The lodge enjoys an elevated position on the escarpment ridge of the Great Rift Valley. Each of the spacious rooms offers en-suite shower rooms and floor to ceiling windows, with a balcony, allowing unimpeded views out across the valley floor. The hotel is largely centred around a stunning bar and infinity pool that extends over the landscape with a stunning 'drop-off' effect.

Days 2 - 3: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Crater (approximately 4 hour drive) Enjoy the unique views of the high altitude rain forest surrounding the ring. Check in and enjoy lunch at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, before you descend into the crater for a game viewing drive on your Ngorongoro Crater safari in Tanzania.

Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is built along the rim of this dormant volcano. The plant and ivy-covered native stone blends perfectly with the surroundings. Each guest room has a private terrace with spectacular views of the crater floor. The dining room and bar are warm and inviting, with crackling wood fires in each, and the menu is both delicious and extensive, incorporating at least four courses.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a huge area containing active volcanoes, mountains, archaeological sites, rolling plains, forests, lakes, dunes and of course, Ngorongoro Crater and Olduvai Gorge. Ngorongoro Crater is also known as 'the eighth wonder of the world'.

Ngorongoro has over 20,000 large animals including some of Tanzania's last remaining black rhino, protected within its rim. The crater has become a unique conservation area where Lion, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo roam in safety. Spend two days exploring this amazing place where the animals are used to safari vehicles which allow you photo opportunities at very close range.

Days 4 - 10: Zanzibar

Drive back to Arusha today in time to connect with the internal flight to Zanzibar. It is a one hour drive/transfer from the airport to Echo Beach Hotel.

Echo Beach Hotel is built in five acres of gardens on Bwejuu, one of the prettiest beaches in Zanzibar. The lodge is owned and run by Sue and Andrew Page, an English couple who spent many years running a hotel in France, before being seduced by the white sand beaches of Zanzibar.

The lodge has nine air-conditioned bandas/cottages built amongst the coconut palms. The cottages are all traditionally designed with cool whitewashed walls and makuti thatched roofs. Outside each cottage is a shady veranda where you can relax and enjoy the spectacular views. Inside the rooms all have en-suite bathrooms and are decorated with bright drapes and a mixture of antique and locally made wooden furniture.

For those who want to get the true taste of Zanzibar there is a wealth of fresh local food on the menu. The ultimate in fresh fare, produce is purchased daily, including lobster, crab, mussels and squid straight from local fisherman who come to the beach.

You can dive and snorkel in the warm crystal waters of the Indian Ocean, or relax in the ultimate affinity pool. There is a water-sports and activities centre at Echo Beach which includes a PADI dive centre. Echo Beach is a beautiful place to relax by the pool, walk on the beach, snooze in a hammock and generally take things easy after your exciting wildlife safari in Tanzania.
